U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar called the incoming Obama national security team “excellent” and said he will likely vote to confirm Sen. Hillary Clinton as secretary of state. Lugar said on ABC’s This Week on Sunday of President-Elect Barack Obama’s cabinet, “I think they’re excellent selections. I think it will be a strong team. I would just say, as an individual, I look forward to working with each one of them. I hope and I’m certain Senator Kerry, who is our incoming chairman, feels the same way. Bipartisan support of this team really is of the essence right now.” Lugar added, “I would vote in favor of Senator Clinton, knowing what we have here on this program today. I suspect, however, that I’m not alone in suggesting that there will be questions raised, and probably legitimate questions.” (Google Photo)
