U.S. Sen. Barack Obama has a commanding 40-25 percent lead over U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Howey-Gauge Poll released on Monday. It is the first media poll released in Indiana on the presidential race. The lead comes despite the endorsement of Clinton by U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh, House Speaker B. Patrick Bauer, Indiana Democratic Chairman Dan Parker and Marion County Sheriff Frank Anderson. In the GOP race, U.S. Sen. John McCain had a 52-23 percent lead over former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. The Indiana primary is May 6. The Howey-Gauge poll is based on 500 likely registered voters and has a +/- error margin of 4.5 percent. See full analysis below. (HPI Photo by Brian A.
